Frequetly Asked Questions
1. Are your honorary degrees valid?
Yes. As a Charitable organization registered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, we are allowed by law to award honorary master's, doctoral, and professorship titles. Our degree-granting authority is renewed every year with the state of Florida. And because our degrees are given upon receiving a donation, they are legitimate and valid honorary degrees, similar to those awarded by many universities.
2. What are the requirements for getting an honorary doctorate?
There are no requirements aside from the payment of the donation we request, which covers our administrative and shipping costs. Nonetheless, we trust that those who request honorary doctorates from us have made contributions to their communities and/or Churches. We hope that receiving an honorary degree inspires people to exhibit a spirit of generosity in their everyday lives, to dedicate time and resources to charities, to respect all people, to be honest and humble in all dealings, and to live moral lives guided by elementary Christian principles.
3. What Are Honorary Doctorate Degrees?
Many schools, public and private, recognize individuals who make notable contributions to society by awarding them honorary doctorate degrees. Distinguished philanthropists, musicians, politicians, authors and scientists often receive acknowledgment for their exemplary accomplishments and achievements that serve a greater good.
4. What does the honorary doctorate look like?
Our honorary master's and doctorates are printed on special heavy stock parchment paper, in the international A4 size. They feature an adhesive golden seal, our logo, and the signature of the Officer of Global University. They are impressive documents which can be framed for display on a wall, displayed on a desk or any place of your choosing.
5. Degree Criteria
While many colleges and universities provide their own strict criteria for honorary candidates, typically an honorary degree may only be given to an individual with a sustained lifetime achievement, rather than a group or for a single contribution. Public universities do not allow faculty members or employees of the school to be nominated for the degree, though private universities usually don't carry the same restriction. Candidacy for the degree often represents a school's prominent vocation or pursuit. However, many institutions put more emphasis on the prolonged bearing of an individual's accomplishment.
A few schools have age restrictions or require the honoree to be present at the time the degree is conferred. Some schools allow honorary doctorate degrees to be awarded posthumously, and the degree may be accepted by the honoree's family or colleagues.
6. Is the honorary degree a digital file?
No. It is a physical certificate mailed to you in a protective envelope.
7. Is the certificate dated?
Yes, typically within the month it is requested. If you would like your degree to not be dated, please indicate this in the "Notes" section of the order process. Please note that whether or not the certificate is dated has no bearing on its validity.
8. Can I call myself "Dr." after receiving an honorary doctorate?
This depends on where you reside. In some countries, like the United States, honorary doctorate recipients are allowed to use the title of "Dr.", so you may use this title before your name. In other countries, you can use the title of "Dr. h.c." before or after your name, to specify that your doctorate is honorary and not academic.
9. Can you provide verification to prospective employers?
Yes. We are more than happy to provide verification when we receive inquiries.
10. Can I get transcripts?
No. Because our degrees are not academic and do not require any coursework, they are not accompanied by any type of transcripts. We take pride in the fact that our honorary degrees are originals that are legitimately bestowed, and unlike other websites that "sell" degrees, we do not offer counterfeit documents.
11. Can I get an honorary title for someone else?
Yes. During the order process, we ask that you write in the name of the recipient of the degree, exactly as you would like it to appear on the certificate. Here you can write in the name of the person that you would like to give the honorary doctorate to.
12. Can I get an honorary doctorate in a discipline that is not included in your list?
We encourage recipients to select disciplines from our list that reflect their background and experiences. However, from time to time we receive requests for disciplines that are not included on our list. As a church, we can only award degrees in fields that fall within the realm of our mission. If you have made contributions to a field that is not in our list, but that is related to religion and/or spirituality, please contact us and we will let you know whether we are able to award such a degree.
13. How can I make the donation?
The best way to make your donation is directly on our website. You can securely pay using any major credit card, and as we receive your payment immediately, we can dispatch your honorary doctorate without any delay. If you cannot donate online, we also offer the option of paying by international bank transfer, money order or cashiers check.
